NOTICE OF RACE


1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY

1.1. The Organizing Authority is the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club.

2. VENUE

2.1. The race will be held on June 3rd , 2000 in Piraeus, Greece.

3. SECRETARIAT

3.2. The Secretariat will remain open on working days from 09.00 to 13.30
and from 17.30 to 20.30 hrs. local time.

4. RULES

4.1. The event will be governed by the current editions of the following
rules:
The International Yacht Racing Rules of the I.S.A.F. 1997-2000 (R.R.S.)
The J24 Class Rules (except as any of these are changed by this Notice of
Race and the Sailing Instructions).

4.2. The Organizing Authority will provide yachts (Class J24) and sails. A
detailed description of the above will be available after written request.
One person appointed by the Organizing Authority will
accompany each yacht.
4.3. In case of damage in the participating yachts, the cost up to the
first 300.000 Drs (~850$) will be bared by the responsible, after the
decision of the Jury.

5. SPONSOR

5.1. Sponsor of the race is the ?BALTIC EXCHANGE? organization.
5.2. All participating yachts must raise the sponsor's flag during the
whole period
of the races, according to RRS. Appendix G 3.1 (f).


6. ADVERTISING

The Event is designated as a Category B event, in accordance with R.R.S.
Appendix G.

7. ENTRIES

7.1. Entries must be submitted to the Secretariat of H.O.R.C. not later
than Friday, May 26th.
7.2. Entries must be written on the enclosed Entry Form.
7.3. The Entry fee will be 200.000 GRD per boat. (~570$)
7.4. Each competitive yacht must be crewed by total of 5 persons, including
the appointed crew by the Organizer.

8. ON SITE - REGISTRATION

Competitors shall complete on-site Registration at the Race Office in
Piraeus from Friday 2 June from 17:30 to 20:30 hrs and Saturday 3 June from
09:00 to 10:00 hrs. Sailing Instructions will be
available at the moment of the Registration.

9. SCORING SYSTEM

The Low-point scoring system will apply except that first yacht will
receive one point.

10. CREW LIST

10.1. The person in charge of each participating crew must submit a crew
list with the full names of all persons aboard, not later than the end of
the registration time limit.
10.2. Changes in the crew composition are permitted, provided that the Race
Committee is advised in writing, on the specific form available by the
secretariat, not later than one (1) hour before the start of the race.

11. LIABILITY

11.1. Competitors will participate in the event at their own exclusive risk
in accordance with the basic Rule No.4 of R.R.S. ?Decision on starting a
race ?. The decision to start or continue any race is within the rights of
the skipper of any yacht and is absolutely his own responsibility.
11.2. The Organizing Authority will not accept any liability for personal
or material damage, injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior
to, during or after the race either at sea or ashore. The Organizing
Authority disclaims any and all such liability.

12. PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall winner.

13. PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY

The prize giving ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 3rd 2000, at
H.O.R.C. premises.

14. DATES & COURSES

14.1. The Race will consist of a serial of two (2) ?Windward ? Leeward?
races.
